Hazare, who today joined the protest over non-implementation of the OROP scheme at the Jantar Mantar here, said that he would not give up till the government accepts the demand. “It should be done in a non-violent manner”, Anna Hazare said.

Hazare has already announced launching an indefinite fast on October 2 in Delhi over the Land Bill and to press for OROP.

Joining the protest, Hazare said, “It is because of the soldiers, civil persons can sleep in relief”.

The OROP scheme is to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel who retire at the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
