Without specifically referencing Trump’s comments about the Khizr and Ghazala Khan, and without naming the GOP nominee himself, Obama said family members of Gold Star recipients “represent the very best of our country” who deserve the nation’s respect.
Meanwhile, newly elected VFW national commander Brian Duffy said Monday that Trump’s comments were “out of bounds” and might have a lasting impact.

“America’s military is the most capable fighting force in history-and we’re going to keep it that way”, he said. “I actually saw her standing there as a kind of strength”.
The Schauweckers didn’t want to comment on the speech, or the political backlash now swirling around Donald Trump.
“It’s going to be a lot of work, going to take a lot of money, but it’s going to be well worth it”, she said.
Asked about that speech during a weekend interview with ABC, Trump questioned whether the words were Khan’s own. She said he died within a week of the Khan’s son, Humayun, and that the two were buried in the same row at Washington’s Arlington Cemetery.

“I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention”. Trump tweeted. “Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me!”
