‘Imposter’ Emma Watson’s acting success left her ‘incredibly uncomfortable’
Courtesy of Mario Testino / Vogue Emma Watson poses on the duvet of Sept.’s British Vogue It is just the 2nd time she’s featured on the duvet of the long-lasting magazine, the 1st being in 2010. Shot by photographer Josh Ollins, the actress wears a delicate white and gold jacquard dress by Stella McCartney, with her brown locks lightly pulled back.

The 25-year-old actress rose to worldwide fame after portraying know-it-all Hermione Granger in all eight of the hugely popular Harry Potter films.
Watson, who appears on the cover of next month’s Vogue, said: “When I was younger, I just did it. I just acted”. So much so that when someone praises her acting skills, she feels “incredibly uncomfortable”. “It was just something I did”.
The actress has been enjoying some rare time off recently and after announcing her huge new role earlier this year, Emma said that her six year old self was “on the ceiling” that she would play the lead role of Belle.
Last September, Emma gave an impassioned speech in front of world leaders and an audience of millions on YouTube as she launched the HeForShe campaign for gender equality in New York. “I’ve gone back and I’ve quizzed my parents”, she confessed. “I tend to turn in on myself”, she admits.
‘I was in my hotel room, thinking, I can’t do this.
“Everything clicked into place, in a way that it hadn’t before”, she said of the campaign.
“I understood what I’m here to do and knew where to channel all this energy that has been coming at me”.
The Telegraph describes this as an imposter syndrome where some people feel that they are just pretending to do a certain job and will not last in it. The imposter syndrome, which was studied since the 70’s, commonly occurs in women who are successful in their respective careers but actually do not have enough confidence.
