Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Hamza Shahbaz said the PML-N candidate’s victory is a confirmation of the mandate given by the people to the party in general elections in 2013. Pakistan People’s Party candidate Barrister Aamir Hasan could only get 819 votes.

Talking to a delegation of PML-N workers at his office, he said owing to prudent economic policies of the government, country’s economy was coming back on the right track, stated official spokesman. He said that he defeated the alliance of PTI, PAT, PML-Q and Jamaat Islami (JI).

The winning candidate also warned the PTI against the politics of dharna which he said disserved the country in the past.

The petitioner says the victor, former Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N, neither deposited the fine of Rs 2.5 million imposed on him by the election tribunal nor did he submit details about his foreign visits. He said this election will strengthen the PTI.

He asked Imran to shun ego and lend a hand to the government in building the country.

The Minister called upon the PTI to play its part in the parliament and give suggestions to overcome the challenges of terrorism, energy shortage, unemployment, poverty and ignorance so that the government may speed up the development work.

Federal Information Minister, Pervaiz Rashid has said that Saradr Ayaz Sadiq’s victory in NA-122 has proved the transparency of 2013 general election.

PTI faced defeat in NA 144 and NA 122.

The PTI leaders, however, accused the ruling PML-N of using state machinery to sway votes.
