In a Rare Work Appearance, Marco Rubio Says Government Employees Who Don’t

The media should also be more adversarial toward Rubio, the longtime Bush friend and consultant said.

In the past, Rubio defended his missed votes on defunding Planned Parenthood and the defense spending bill, arguing that winning the presidency was more important. And a few of these votes actually matter, defense appropriations bills matter, committee hearings dealing with real challenges that our country faces.

A note to Marco Rubio: Do your job or get fired.

Rubio has been somewhat reluctant to fight back.

“It isn’t fair to them that there are people on the payroll taking up seats, taking up slots, taking up money and taking up time that aren’t doing their jobs and they literally can not be fired”, Rubio said.

“Mr. Rubio, now 44, a United States senator, and running for president, spent most of his career in the state capital defying those who wanted him to fall in line”.

Rubio attended the rally at the Utah State Fairpark and a private fundraiser in Davis County.

Polls show that Rubio and Bush are running about even in the early states.

Meanwhile, Rubio is doing his own dance in trying to distinguish himself from his former mentor.

Rubio says he has simply changed his tactics, not his broader position, on how to resolve a decades-long debate.

The issue of sanctuary cities is the latest front in the political war over immigration policy that has in recent years deepened the divide between immigrant-rights advocates and restrictionists.

“Rubio says now that once Republicans “believe and see” that illegal immigration is under control, based on goalposts he refuses to set and specify, in a time frame that extends beyond his presidency, immigrants could be allowed to get work permits and someday citizenship”, Sharry said. Hopes have not come to pass that rivals could be chased from the field with Bush’s mammoth fundraising effort in the first half of the year – yielding more than $100 million for his campaign and the super PAC supporting him.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., held a similar event in Orem during a campaign stop in August, but GOP presidential contenders Carly Fiorina and Jeb Bush, as well as Democrat Hillary Clinton, collected campaign cash but made no public appearances.

Later, Rubio’s campaign backed away slightly, saying that the candidate hadn’t meant to target the entire pharma business, just the misbehaving companies. Rubio’s comments turn criticism of the industry bipartisan. Bush, then-governor, presented him with a sword, symbolically knighting him as Florida’s rising star. I think so, but it’s easier post-Obama than before because we’ve had the Less Filling, Tastes Great great experiment.

Sadosky dismissed the complaint to AP as “unabashed partisanship” and said the group’s work is not limited to just helping Rubio, reiterating on Wednesday that the group remains focused broadly on advocating conservative solutions to issues facing Americans.
