The conversation between Stephanopoulos and Trump got a tad heated, with the GOP presumptive nominee accusing the “GMA” host of being good friends with Clinton.
On Monday, in an interview with CNN, Trump tried to clarify comments he made last week that sounded as if he wanted to default on part of the USA debt.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gestures as he speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in his office at Trump Tower in New York, Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
Rep. Darrell Issa, a California Republican who has endorsed Trump, also told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday that the real estate mogul told him that he intends to release his taxes after the audit. The resistance to releasing the tax documents leads to a number of important questions among voters. Trump said then that Romney – who finally released them under pressure – should be proud of his wealth and not hold back his financial information.

Trump maintained that the cuts would benefit middle-class families, and that the rich would actually end up paying more in taxes, because he would eliminate unspecified deductions and loopholes.
The criticisms on Trump’s taxes come as the candidate prepares to meet Thursday with House Speaker Paul Ryan. Author David Cay Johnston, in his book “Temples of Chance”, found that Trump reported negative income early on in his business career.
Trump also said he doesn’t not believe that voters have a right to see his tax returns before they vote, but that he would gladly made them public once the audit is over.
Of course, there’s plenty to learn from Trump’s returns: Just how wealthy is he?
There is no IRS rule stating that people undergoing an audit can not release tax returns. “But until you get finished, you won’t”.
One of those advisers, Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation, had his own response: “I’m a little bummed out if his spokeswoman says they’re not going to make any changes to the plan”.

He complained that he’s targeted for a review every year, citing the audits as a block, though Stephanopoulos noted that former president Richard Nixon released his tax returns when he was under audit.
