In Iowa, Clinton pressing to make tougher gun laws a voter issue
The Vermont independent senator and self-described Democratic socialist said the questions surrounding Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state are “valid” and that the investigation should “proceed unimpeded”.

Hillary Rodham Clinton speaks about her campaign for the 2008 presidency after being endorsed by Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, left, at City Dock in Annapolis, Md., on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Did her usage interfere with public-records requests, or expose sensitive information?
After listing issues that are more important to American families – including college affordability, campaign finance reform and climate change – Sanders said “All of those issues are more important than Hillary Clinton’s emails, of which there is already a process underway to determine what happens”.
“I just disagreed with a lot of what they say and how they go about it. Obviously they have every right to run for president, but I just wish they actually address the real problems that Americans face”. He did after all preface his “sick and tired” statement with “let me say something that may not be great politics”.
The WSJ’s Peter Nicholas notes that Sanders has become more aggressive in attacking Hillary on the campaign trail.
Eighty-seven percent of respondents said they thought Clinton could win the general election, compared to 20 percent for Sanders and 9 percent for O’Malley. But what is clear is that Sanders gets that giving Clinton a free pass on her e-mails is untenable in the context of the primary race, and he is doing a few clean-up work to make sure she doesn’t get one.
But that was a reversal of sorts from what he said in last month’s Democratic presidential debate. That means Sanders will be able to raise as much as $33,400 for the committee during his events while also grabbing checks for as much as $2,700 to add to his presidential campaign.
“People should be suspect of candidates who receive large sums of money from Wall Street and then go out and say, ‘Trust me, I’m going to really regulate Wall Street, ‘” he continued.
Hillary Clinton may not have to worry about the SC primary like she did in 2008, according to the latest Winthrop Poll.

“Well, what motivated that is that I think the American people want substantive discussions on substantive issues”, Sanders said. The poll shows 20 percent of respondents said they were not familiar with the Black Lives Matter movement. Clinton drew applause from the crowd when she repeated her call for a $12 minimum wage. “The fact that Secretary Clinton and I have profound differences on reigning in excesses on Wall Street and refraining from bad trade deals is something people need to consider”.
