In Iowa push, Sanders expands criticism of Clinton’s record

Hillary Clinton agreed on Thursday to some of the terms laid down by an opponent, Senator Bernie Sanders, in his call to increase the number of public debates as they vie to become the Democratic candidate in November’s us presidential election. In a private memo, I wrote that if she wants to endorse Hillary Clinton she should, and state why she believes Clinton would be a great president, a proposition that can be fairly argued, but an argument that has never made effectively made by Clinton herself.

Her presidential campaign says Clinton will appear Saturday in Ames, Iowa, with Gabby Giffords, the former Democratic congresswoman from Arizona.

“We have always been willing to add additional debates beyond the six that had been scheduled and look forward to starting discussions on scheduling debates in April and May”, Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said in an email to reporters. “Our economy works for Wall Street because it’s rigged by Wall Street and that’s the problem”.

Clinton spokeswoman Christina Reynolds said it was “ironic that Senator Sanders is preaching consistency on the very day he flip-flopped on his position on a bill to end immunity for gun makers and dealers or that he’s touting his positive campaign while simultaneously ramping up the attacks”.

“How does Wall Street get away from it?”

“As long as Washington is bought and paid for, we can’t build an economy that works for people”, the narrator says.

“Support for Sanders has come from those who are new to the process, but the current poll indicates he is also cutting into Clinton’s lead among die-hard Democratic partisans”, said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute, in a statement accompanying the poll results. “But first things first: We have to agree that we’re going to debate in New Hampshire”.

The letter lists previous medical conditions Sanders has sought treatment for, including gout, “mild” levels of high cholesterol, and acid reflux-related laryngitis. He has also had surgery to fix hernias and excise a vocal cord cyst, the letter said.

Sanders will turn 75 later this year, so if he wins, he would be the oldest president ever elected.
