In leaked email, Powell criticizes both candidates
In one email, posted on Twitter by Intercept journalist Lee Fang, private equity investor and Democrat donor Jeffrey Leeds told Powell that all Clinton wants is to win the upcoming election.

Rice, who succeeded Powell as secretary of state under George W. Bush in 2005, responded, “Completely agree”.
Mr Powell’s e-mails appeared on a website called DCLeaks.com, which had previously posted documents that the site had obtained after hacks into the accounts of prominent Democrats and some Republicans.
A Powell aide confirmed the hack to the New York Times and said, “They are his emails”.
Hillary Clinton today sidestepped a question about an email that former Secretary of State Colin Powell sent criticizing the Democratic presidential nominee, saying only that she has “a lot of sympathy for anyone whose emails become public”.
He also focuses on the “birther” movement when Trump had made an effort to claim that President Obama was not born in the United States.
To a former aide he writes: “No need to debate it with you now, but Trump is a national disgrace and an worldwide pariah”.
“That’s what the 99% believe”, Powell wrote.
The FBI released information from its investigation of Clinton’s email practices in July and August, and the notes it released showed Clinton indicating her practices came from Powell, CNN added.
It’s no surprise Powell doesn’t like Trump, but he’s kept that opinion to himself.
“They are going to d*** up the legitimate and necessary use of emails with friggin record rules”.
“Basic fault falls on a courageous ambassador who [thought] Libyans now love me and I am ok in this very vulnerable place”, he allegedly wrote in the December 2015 email, referring to Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, one of four Americans killed in the incident. But that doesn’t mean he has only kind things to say about her-or her husband-in private.
Powell has yet to officially endorse a candidate for president, but it’s abundantly clear that he will not be supporting this year’s Republican nominee.
Mr. Powell’s emails were posted online this week by the group DC Leaks, and Democrats have been pointing fingers at Russian Federation in the wake of the recent Democratic National Committee hack.
No, not that Secretary of State (though we’re sure you’ll hear more about her emails after this whole “Hillary is mere moments from death” business cools off). What did not change is the advice and the stern messages that he gave Hillary and her camp regarding her email server.

In another email from Powell, he outlined the various ways he felt Clinton’s email scandal differed from his own similar use of a private server.
