In less than a week, another DSP found dead in Karnataka

DSP MK Ganapathy has been found dead in a lodge with a suicide note alleging senior officials as the reason behind the suicide. Reacting to missives from opposition leader Jagadish Shettar, the minister said: “There is no evidence against me, Ganapathi had misconceptions about me, but Shettar wants action against me without any inquiry or investigation”.

Stalling House proceedings since yesterday, BJP has been demanding resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George and action against A M Prasad (IG-Intelligence) and Pranab Mohanty (IGP-Lokayukta) who were named by Ganapathy in a local TV interview before his death, saying they would be responsible “if anything happens to me”.

The opposition parties also demanded the suspension of Prasad and Mohanty till the CID probe was completed and the inquiry was handed over to the CBI.

Signalling at Ravi, Rai made some comments about the death of Chikkamagalur DySP Kalappa Handibag, named as accused in a kidnapping case, who was found hanging in his father-in-law’s house in Belagavi district on July 5. “I clearly told him I can not interfere in matters of the police department”. Making a statement in the legislative assembly, George said: “I have not harassed any officer so far, I do not know why Ganapathi mentioned my name”.

As Rai interrupted Bopaiah, BJP members objected to it, but the minister hit back asking who they were to question him.

Siddaramaiah Government has come under severe attack for interfering in the working of the officials like Anupama Shenoy, K Mathais, D K Ravi, M K Ganapathy, Mysuru DC Shikha, IAS Officer Rashmi Mahesh, and many more.

Hours before he hanged himself, Ganapathy gave an interview to a private news channel in which he held two Indian Police Service officers and a state minister responsible for harassing and driving him to take the extreme step. He has said I had malice against him, but the fact is that after I became Home Minister he was given posting at Rajgopalnagar as Circle Inspector. “After he was promoted and transferred as DySP to Mangaluru, she continued ill-treating him, because of this my son was under depression, and that could have driven him to suicide”, Parameshwara said quoting from Kushalappa’s complaint. I have no personal issue with him.
