In turnabout, Christie endorses former GOP rival Trump

“I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular”, said LePage, hours after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie also backed his former presidential campaign rival.

“I’ve gotten to know all the people on that stage”.

Trump was joined in by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in attacking Rubio.

Christie dropped out of the GOP race on February 10 after coming in 10th in the Iowa caucuses and sixth in the New Hampshire primaries without picking up a single delegate.

“So here’s the one tweet he put out, he put out a picture of me having makeup put on me at the debate”, Rubio said.

He added: “I don’t think his temperament is suited for that and I don’t think his experience is”.

“I think Marco Rubio understands that the USA has a major role to play in the world”, he said.

“Donald Trump is a con artist trying to hijack the conservative movement and the Republican Party, and he can not be our nominee”, Rubio said in an email to his supporters.

“All right, what does Donald Trump do when things go wrong?”

Texas and several other states will get their say on March 1, Super Tuesday.

Rubio relished telling voters at two rallies Friday in Dallas and Oklahoma City about how Trump acted during a TV commercial break from Thursday night’s acrimonious primary debate in Houston.

“I am thrilled to be here this morning to lend my support”.

Later, Trump seized a water bottle and yelled, “It’s Rubio!” mocking Rubio’s water grab during his State of the Union response three years ago. Bad-boy ex-basketball star Dennis Rodman tweeted a semi-profane sentiment at Ted Cruz regarding the hit show The Apprentice on Friday, which you probably didn’t even hear about because literally everything that happened on the campaign trail today was way more ridiculous than that.

He said Mr Trump was the party’s best hope of winning back the presidency from the Democrats.

Christie reiterated he was supporting Trump because he believes the real estate mogul is the only candidate who can defeat Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in the general election.

“He’ll always be a friend of mine, but that’s not going to affect our campaign or where we’re going”, Kasich said, according to the report.
