Inaugural Arizona Bowl to have Mountain West flavor
A pair of Mountain West foes will square off in the inaugural Arizona Bowl when the Nevada Wolf Pack take on the Colorado State Rams on Tuesday evening at Arizona Stadium.

Butler finished the game with 177 yards rushing and both of Nevada’s offensive touchdowns.
What this win means for Nevada: The Wolf Pack turned around their disappointing end to the regular season, in which they lost their final two games to drop to 6-6 entering this bowl matchup. Follow this link for a full list of local stations that will air the game.
Jackson became the 32nd player in Nevada’s history to reach the 1,000-yard milestone in the last game of the 2015 season against San Diego State. Colorado State wide receiver Rashard Higgins took a slant pass 38 yards inside the 1, and quarterback Nick Stevens snuck in for a touchdown and a 7-6 lead 7:04 before halftime.
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Colorado State is favored in this game, as the Rams are getting odds of -3.5 points against Nevada today.
Did you know…? The Arizona Bowl will mark the first time two teams from the same conference have met in a non-BCS/CFP bowl game since the 1979 Orange Bowl between Oklahoma and Nebraska. Even the non-televised bowl games between teams from the same conference are good! A week earlier, Nevada was tagged on kick returns – more than 200 yards allowed and a touchdown to boot – in a loss to Utah State. Nevada has been up and down all year and one could realistically flip a coin to determine how this team will play. CSU had a chance at a touchdown on third-and-15, but Stevens narrowly overthrew Higgins in the end zone, and Bryan’s third field goal of the night gave CSU its first lead, 23-22, with 3:40 to play. The Rams responded with a field goal to cut into the lead on its ensuing possession before Nevada’s Elijah Mitchell extended the advantage by returning CSU’s kickoff for a 96-yard touchdown. It’s no secret the Wolf Pack like to run the ball.
