India accuses Pakistan of cease-fire violation in Kashmir
Massive protests were held here today against the terrorist attack on an army base in North Kashmir’s Uri town in which 18 soldiers were killed with protestors burning Pakistani flags and its effigies.

Kalia said troops in the same area had blocked an attempt by suspected militants to cross the LoC into Indian-administered Kashmir.
During the attack, 17 Indian soldiers were killed. Most of dead and wounded suffered severe burns after their army tents and temporary shelters caught fire from incendiary ammunition while they were sleeping.
India’s General Ranbir Singh said Sunday’s assault bore the hallmarks of Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
At least 87 civilians have been killed and thousands injured in clashes between protesters and security forces, the worst unrest to hit Kashmir since 2010. The Pakistan media blamed India for the attack, saying its timing was suspicious as it happened at the same time Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif went to UNGA to talk about Kashmir. France also called for decisive action to be taken, in accordance with global law, against the terrorist groups targeting India, particularly the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.
Sources said Sushma Swaraj, minister for external affairs, will raise Pakistan’s involvement in the attack at the United Nations on September 26.
Taking note of a hostile narrative being propagated by India, CoAS said, “we are fully cognisant and closely watching the latest happenings in the region and their impact on the security of Pakistan”, according to ISPR.
“Enough is enough… How long will we keep on absorbing terror strikes without effectively retaliating?”
Official sources said the NIA team, which was now camping at Uri, would collect the DNA samples of the four unidentified terrorists and their pictures would be shown to Jaish cadres lodged in various jails of the state as well as other parts of the country.
“Four terrorists killed in counter-terrorist operation at Uri”.
India says Pakistan is helping smuggle fighters across the border, but says the number of infiltration attempts has dropped over the last decade. Some officials suggested sending in special forces trained in “irregular warfare” to target terrorist camps and outposts on the opposite side of the LoC.
Occasional violations of a 2003 ceasefire between the nuclear-armed rivals are not uncommon.
“The government has to take into account that any strike inside Pakistan can escalate into an all-out war”. This news story is related to Latest/151263-Indian-Pakistani-troops-exchange-fire-Kashmir/ – breaking news, latest news, pakistan ne.

The firing violates the 2003 ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan along the worldwide boundary and the LoC – the de facto border that divides Jammu and Kashmir between the two neighbours.
