India calls Pakistan ‘prime sponsor of terrorism’, asks it to vacate PoK
Twitter users were quick to support India while describing Pakistan as a hub of terrorism, even as its own former diplomat observed that Sharif’s speech at the UN General Assembly, though welcomed at home, has furthered hardened India’s position.

When asked about his initiative about forging better ties with India, Sharif said that Pakistan has put forward concrete proposals for improving ties with India with the hope that it would elicit a positive response.
“The solution does not lie in blame game, rather it lies in cooperation”, the Foreign Secretary said.
On Sharif ” s remarks that Jammu and Kashmir is under foreign occupation, Singh said the “occupier in question is Pakistan.
He proposed four new “peace initiatives”, including that Pakistan and India formalise and respect the 2003 ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control in Kashmir.
Sharif: Equated Kashmir with Palestine while talking about “suffering of Muslims across the world“, saying “Palestinians and Kashmiris (are) oppressed by foreign occupation”.
She claimed Pakistan uses terrorism as a “legitimate instrument of statecraft”. “To de-militarize Kashmir is not the answer”, ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said in a tweet.
As Swarup said in his tweet, demilitarising Kashmir would not be possible unless there was an end to terrorists backed by elements in the Pakistani government crossing over, which would be an unlikely development.
She said reforms in the UNSC are the most urgent and pressing need and added that imparting more legitimacy and balance to it would restore its credibility and equip it to confront the challenges of our times. On each occasion, it is India that has extended the hand of friendship.
“The world watches with concern as its consequences have spread beyond its immediate neighborhood”. Thirdly, the Prime Minister proposed steps be taken to demilitarize Kashmir.
Yet today, ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary are intensifying, causing civilian deaths including women and children, he told the Assemblys 70th annual General Debate. For this objective, we call for UNMOGIPs expansion to monitor the observance of the ceasefire.
Discarding Pakistan’s four-point formula for peace, the Indian minister asserted that it was ready to discuss all issues if the neighbouring country addressed “just one” point of ending terrorism emanating from there, as she proposed NSA-level talks to address the problem.

Resolving “the causes of tension” would reduce the “peril posed by offensive and advanced weapons systems” held by the two nuclear-armed nations, he added during his speech on Wednesday.
