The woman’s partner, New Zealand rugby player Evaan Reihana, promised to dedicate his career to her memory in a post online.
He added: “I miss you my little angel. We’ve shared so many great memories Ind, all of which I will never forget”.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday confirmed she died from pressure to the neck.
Northamptonshire Police had been searching for India Chipchase after she went missing in the early hours of Saturday morning outside a club in Northampton.
The alleged killer, wearing slip-on shoes and a grey top and jogging bottoms, spoke only to confirm that he understood the charge against him during a two-minute hearing.
No plea was entered and Mr Tenniswood’s solicitor, Derek Johnson, made no application for bail. He’s been ordered to appear before a crown court judge via a prison videolink on Thursday.
Formal identification has yet to take place but India’s family have been informed of the discovery.
Jeremy Chipchase, 49, is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology who is now working in Australia.
She lived with her mother Suzanne, 47, her brother Harry, 18, and sisters Pia, 15, and Honor, 11, in an upmarket suburb of Northampton.
Alongside a picture of Chipchase, he wrote: “I honestly can’t believe to think even now that you have left us in that way miss India eve Chipchase!!”
“So sad and devastating and on our doorstep”.
For her studies she worked with children and the elderly, winning praise from supervisors for her teamwork, initiative and sensitivity.
Former Southland first-five James Wilson, who now plays for Northampton, said: “My thoughts for family and friends of India”.
She was delightful, a bubbly personality, she brought a smile to everybody’s face.
She had been reported missing the day before after a night out with friends.
Her body was found in a house in Stanley Rd, two streets away from Victoria Park.
