In a press conference called forth by the Congress on Tuesday regarding comments made by “Margdarshaks” of the Bhartiya Janata Party, former Union Cabinet Minister Anand Sharma condemned the terror attack on Pathankot and raised questions about the nature of peace negotiations that had seemingly transpired during Narendra Modi’s “surprise” visit to Pakistan.

The statement said “Both the prime ministers agreed that a cordial and cooperative relationship between two countries would be the most appropriate response to the nefarious designs of the terrorists”.

Sporadic gunfire could be heard from inside the airbase, interspersed with grenade explosions, security officials said, but they seemed unsure of the situation inside, due to the multiplicity of forces involved.

Government officers stated that every time the 2 sides meet, be it on the Foreign Secretary-degree or in National Security Advisor – degree, all proof of Pakistani hyperlinks of the terrorists can be given for motion.

Sharif said “his government was working on the leads and information provided by the Indian government” and that “the Pakistani government would investigate this matter”, said the statement issued by the Pakistan PMO.

Security officials said today that the combing operations may continue for a day or two at the forward base where seven security personnel and six terrorists were killed.

Since Saturday morning, the base has been swarming with air force commandos, troops from India’s elite NSG and local police.

“Pathankot air base attack has been carried out by the mujahideen associated with National Highway Squad”, said Syed Sadaqat Hussain, a spokesman for the UJC. He gave no details on those intercepts in an interview Tuesday with the television news channel TimesNow.

“The challenge of terrorism calls for strengthening our resolve to a cooperative approach”, Khalilullah said.

Indian-administered Kashmir has seen a long-running insurgency against rule from Delhi, and Kashmir has been a flashpoint in relations between Pakistan and India for almost 70 years since independence.

Parrikar did not explain how just a handful of gunmen managed to paralyze a large Indian air base for nearly four days, insisting that security forces had done “a commendable job”. Pakistan denies that and says it only provides moral and diplomatic support.

A senior federal government official said two militants who were hiding in the administrative block of the base had been killed on Sunday, but authorities had yet to recover the bodies.
