According to reports, mortar shells also landed in civilian areas triggering panic in Kanachak and Pargwal forward areas.
With Tuesday’s ceasefire violations, there have been 8 ceasefire violations by Pakistani Rangers in August.
This is second ceasefire violation along the IB in 12 hours, he said.
“But at 6.05 a.m., Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at the BSF border outpost”, he added.
While Krishnagati and Mandi sectors fall in Poonch, Balakote and Pallanwala are in Rajouri and Jammu respectively.
Pakistan’s border troops reportedly violated the ceasefire in R.S Pura sector earlier today.

As BSF fired a few rounds making them retreat, Pakistani Rangers in the meantime started firing at BSF positions with small arms followed by motor shells. “Pakistani troops continued small arms firing throughout the night on forward posts along the LoC in Krishnagati, Balakote, Sabzian-Mandi and Pallanwala sectors and exchanges took place”, a senior Army officer said.
