India Rejects Pak’s Proposal For FS-Level Talks On Kashmir

Mumbai: Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for referring Balochistan and missing Jammu and Kashmir in his address on the occasion of nation’s 70th Independence Day, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday said that he has created an unnecessary controversy and has given an opportunity to Pakistan to falsely claim now that India has an evil eye on Balochistan.

“We support any and all positive steps that India and Pakistan can take to forge closer relations”.

While the Indian leader, who belongs to the hardline Bhartiya Janata Party, delivered the speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Old Delhi, deadly violence flared in Kashmir where people observed a black day to protest Indian rule on Monday.

“I wouldn’t speak to Mr Modi’s comments, that would be for him to speak to”, Trudeau said.

National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said in a sarcastic remark that it was time for India to sort out the Balochistan problem since the central government was already doing “such a good job” in the state.

Prime Minister’s mention of Balochistan in his Independence Day speech has raked up quite a controversy.

The Kashmir Valley has been tense after the July 8 killing of rebel commander Burhan Wani triggered widespread clashes between protesters and security forces.

He condemned the Indian atrocities on the innocent and defenceless people of Held Kashmir saying that thousands have fallen victim to the Indian army tactics. “There you can show sympathy but don’t connect that with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Jammu and Kashmir”.
