India’s First Transgender Band

YRF films, one of India’s leading production houses in a bid to help the “Transgender” community win the World with their potential has introduced to the world’s first transgender fusion band named as the 6 pack band, the band members comprise of 6 transgender artists and singer Sonu Nigam who always desired to something for this community is supporting them.

In a happy, free-spirited introduction video, the Transgender band sings a cover version of Pharell Willaim’s Happy. The band has six performers from the transgender group.

The singer launched the 6 Pack Band amidst much fanfare!

At the press conference, we were all encouraged to join hands and “clap” in their signature style, which is a traditional identification mark associated with the eunuch community. They have a very good vibe. He said that he had a great experience singing with the band. What would happen to me and my family because of that? Why can’t it happen that we see them at normal places. “It used to pain me a lot”, he told reporters”, Sonu told reporters here. “When they were denied entry by the guard, we went to the secretary of the building”. The project is directed by Shameer Tandon and produced by Assist Patil. This song is one way to get everyone to tune in to that one thought and beat. The video begins with a narration by Anushka Sharma.

The Indian Supreme Court recognized transgender people as a “third gender” and an economically and socially backward class in April 2014. “I’m just honored to be a part of it. This is not a ‘samaj seva” [social serivce] that we are doing and this is going to be a game-changer in the entertainment industry whether it is in music-making or events, ‘ he told the Indo-Asian News Service.
