The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) named Brathwaite to lead the side against India in two T20 matches in Florida.

This will be the first time India will be playing global matches in the USA.
As a result, India missed out on the 3-0 win needed to retain their place at the top of the International Cricket Council Test rankings, with Pakistan displacing them.
Terming the upcoming match as a “new beginning” for cricket in the United States of America, the former cricketer said he didn’t expect that much facilities in the stadium.
“It’s always good to have all the senior guys back and they make things easy for me because it’s a case of them doing all the work, as they know about this format inside out; so it gives me a chance to just enjoy them freeing up themselves out there”, the Trinidadian pointed out. “Would you be expecting India to get more support or West Indies to get more support?” However, facing West Indies in limited-overs cricket, especially T20, is altogether a different ball game. Last year Cricket All Stars, a three-match T20 tournament featuring retired players, also took place in the USA with an aim to give American crowd a feel of cricket.
Earlier this month, 28-year-old Brathwaite was named as West Indies captain, replacing Sammy for the upcoming two-match T20 series against India in Florida.
They may be the reigning world champions in the format, but that didn’t save Darren Sammy’s job as skipper.

Few other global teams have already played here, also not to forget that some of the T20 leagues have happened.

The Central Broward Regional Park has previously hosted four T20Is – in 2010, New Zealand played two matches against Sri Lanka, and returned in 2012 for two games against West Indies.
