While both sides have been impressive throughout the tournament, India will believe it has the edge, being the only unbeaten side in the competition.

For India, Shubman Gill has been the main thrust, scoring an astounding 341 keeps running in six matches.

India not only remained unbeaten throughout the tournament but also became the first nation to win the trophy four times. On the day, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti stepped up too to announce their arrival on the world stage.

The Southeast Asian side were bowled out for 68 within 22 overs, courtesy Anukul Roy’s 5/14 bowling figures. Australia would be desperate for revenge after their big loss to the Indians.

India made an imposing 328/7 from their 50 overs before their bowlers dismissed the Australians for 228 to secure a 100-run win. Prithvi praises pacers Shaw praised the terrific form of his fast bowlers.

“Coaching this team I tend to get a lot of attention, but it is really about the quality of support staff that we have had and the effort they have put in has been unbelievable”, he further added. “I congratulate Rahul Dravid and his team for returning home with the glittering ICC World Cup”, he said. “We’ll celebrate this night, the best night of ours”, he concluded.

It has been an all-round team performance by the Indian colts under the aegis of Mumbai’s batting prodigy Shaw who has captained them brilliantly and got the best out of his boys. “I can only say team effort”.

With strong victories throughout, the Prithvi Shaw-led side will be looking to put up a tough fight against an equally-matched Australia.

Ryan Harris, Australia’s Head Coach has already said that the Aussies will be trying to expose India’s middle order. I believe they have the talent, and they believe in that much more than I do, which I think is very, very important. “I really can’t express what I’m feeling now”.

Australia’s Lloyd Pope is also in contention to finish as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, sitting just one wicket behind Roy following his 8-35 against England in the quarter-finals. Despite India enjoying a slight advantage, the match can go either way and this is what makes India vs Australia a mouth-watering clash.
