“The next phase of the odd-even scheme will start from April 15”, Kejriwal said, adding that two-wheelers and women motorists would continue to be exempted. The scheme limits the use of cars with licence plates ending in odd or even numbers to alternate days.

Sources said the second phase is likely to be introduced in April as school examinations will be underway in March.

Rai earlier in the day tweeted that a decision on the odd-even scheme will be taken on Thursday.

He said most people in Delhi wanted exemption given to the VIPs in January to go.

In an order on Wednesday, Justice P.S. Teji said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will retain the documents seized by it during a raid at the office of Rajendra Kumar, principal secretary to Kejriwal, on December 15, last year.

Anyways the trial period of the odd-Even scheme had an impact on the nation in more ways than one and now its all taking shape to come back with a better impact. This will be done by adding 1,000 buses each of new cluster, air-conditioned and premium category to make it more convenient for commuters. “The public feedback report is being prepared today”. In order to avoid the choas which might originate due to the bulk shift on public transport, the government is not considering to impose the rule on these vehicles for now.

“The odd-and-even scheme has proved that the city needs curbs on high traffic volume to pull down peaking of pollution, reduce congestion that further increase emissions, and cut direct exposure to toxic vehicular fumes”, it said.

A comprehensive health insurance scheme is also planned and the number of beds in government hospitals is planned to be doubled from the present 10,000 to 20,000 in two years.
