There have been ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Poonch, Sujiyan, Balakote, Hamirpur and Mandi sectors alongside the Line of Control in Poonch district for the eighth consecutive day.
Intermittent firing had also taken place in Rajouri’s Manjakot, in which three persons had been injured.
He said authorities had set up camps away from the border for people fleeing the shelling, but so far they had not come for fear of being caught in the cross-fire.
A woman was killed in mortar bomb shelling by Pakistani troops on Sunday, raising the death toll to six in latest firing and shelling in disputed Kashmir region, according to The Northlines. Rebels in recent years have often attacked lone police officers on duty and snatched their service weapons. The incident has drawn flak and retaliation from the Indian army and the BSF.
Pakistan has yet continued its ceasefire violation for the next time towards India in spite of recurrent warnings.
Indian soldiers retaliated after coming under fire from Pakistani rockets in the Poonch sector, 320 kilometres (200 miles) south of the region’s main city of Srinagar, said Indian defence ministry spokesman Manish Mehta. Meanwhile, Abdul Basit stated that an effective mechanism was required to determine who is engaged in ceasefire violations. Six people have been killed in heavy firing and mortar bomb shelling by Pakistani troops at several Indian posts and civilian areas since Independence Day. The injured were airlifted to the Government Medical College hospital here and one of them, who was identified as Mohd.
“We are concerned about the ceasefire violations”.
India and Pakistan have fought three wars, two exclusively over Kashmir and both claim the territory in full.

The continuing border firing comes ahead of the August 23-24 National Security Advisor-level talks to be held in Delhi between India’s Ajit Doval and Pakistan’s Sartaj Aziz to discuss terrorism issues.
