Indian Home Minister to visit Pakistan
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that it’s good that in spite of “rants on TV & the trolls on Twitter” Home Minister Rajnath Singh has made a decision to visit Pakistan.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor July 28 said that they have no objection to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh attending the SAARC Home/Interior Ministers meeting in Pakistan, but added that the grand old party would react only if the ruling dispensation initiates a bilateral meeting with Islamabad. It will be the first visit by a senior Indian government figure after Pathankot airbase attack and flare up in held Kashmir.
The meet will be attended by the interior and home ministers of SAARC member states.
In previous meetings as well, India has participated at Home Minister and Home Secretary level, he noted.
The government has repeatedly asserted that the involvement of Pakistani nationals in Pathankot is “an accepted fact” and that “enough information” on their involvement has been provided to Islamabad. India has blamed Pakistan for trying to create unrest in the Valley.
Describing Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani in Kashmir as “martyr“, Sharif had recently said that “Kashmir will one day become Pakistan”, prompting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to say that his dream of the state becoming a part of his country “will not be realised even at the end of eternity”.
Singh will be accompanied by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and several other senior officers of his Ministry.

In the meeting, scheduled on August 3 and 4, Rajnath Singh would raise the issue of cross-border terrorism.
