According to the woman, the man allegedly masturbated in front of her and ran away from the spot when she confronted him.
She also claimed that the two other people in the picture responded to her screams and helped scare the man away.
Twitteratis have expressed shock and disgust over the incident. “I showed here where the police station was located”, said an eyewitness. Abdo in her post specified that the accused escaped after she tried to nab him due to which she did not get an FIR registered in the incident immediately. The chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked the joint commissioner of police (law and order) Deven Bharti to probe into it. The Colaba police said that they too have heard about the tweet and are taking help of the cyber police to reach out to the complainant woman. “I have therefore decided to take down the picture”. Among those who read and tracked it were officials at the Mumbai police’s Social Media Lab, which monitors the internet. She also tweeted the image again, this time to clarify the fact that the man approaching the camera was the accused and the other two were the Good Samaritans.
