Indian PM makes surprise visit to Pakistan
The meetings between Pakistani and Indian leadership ended with the announcement of resumption of bilateral dialogue process which had earlier been halted over Kashmir issue. He said police have also been deployed on the adjoining areas of the airport.

Chaudhry described the “goodwill visit” as pleasant and said the two leaders needed “to understand each other to open the doors of peace and stability in South Asia”.
Relations between the two nations have had couple of false starts after Sharif accepted Modi’s invitation to attend his inauguration.
Foreign Secretaries of the two countries are also likely to meet in Islamabad next month.

In a statement, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan, saying that the continuation of meetings between the prime ministers of both India and Pakistan would yield positive effects on bilateral relations.
Mistrust between India and Pakistan runs deep and in Afghanistan many believe that Islamabad sponsors the Taliban insurgency to weaken the Kabul government and limit the influence of India.

The countries have fought three wars since 1947, two of them over Kashmir, the divided Himalayan territory that both countries claim in full.
