Indian police arrest Shabbir Shah in New Delhi

While speaking to journalists after reaching Srinagar from Delhi the separatist leader also said that talks will remain open with Pakistan.

As soon as he deplaned, central security agencies along with Delhi Police asked him about the place where he would be staying in Delhi and later drove him there.

Pakistan considered the Indian minister’s remarks as pre- conditions and Sartaj Aziz said earlier in Islamabad that he is ready to travel to New Delhi for unconditional talks.

While leaving Srinagar, Shah had said the he would like to meet Aziz.

Talking to KNS over phone from Delhi, Lone said the two nations (India and Pakistan) have to realise that dialogue is the only way for them to bury decades of hatred and acrimony. “It is important for us to go so that we can seek answers from Pakistan’s side also”, he added. Also, both announced they had prepared copious dossiers about how each was exporting terror or fomenting trouble in the territory of the other.

“The claims made by Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj with regard to Kashmir issue and Kashmiri separatist leaders are not only astonishing but baseless as well”.

Terming the arrest of Hurriyat leadership in New Delhi against the spirits of India democracy pro freedom leader Shabir Ahmed Shah Tuesday questioned that if Kashmir is not an issue and Hurriyat leaders are irrelevant then why former Prime Ministers of India talked to pro freedom leadership from Kashmir in past. Shah parted ways with moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference past year and formed a separate unit.

On Friday it conveyed to Pakistan it would be inappropriate for Aziz to meet separatist leaders from Kashmir.

The top separatist leaders have received an invite from Pakistan High Commission in Delhi for a reception being hosted for Aziz, who is scheduled to arrive in Delhi tomorrow afternoon to hold talks with Doval on Monday.
