Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to endorse Ted Cruz

Mr Trump criticised Ms Fiorina earlier on Wednesday as a then-potential Senator Cruz vice presidential pick.

Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz has tapped former technology executive Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the race for the White House.

The Cruz announcement of Fiorina as his running mate designate comes after Hillary Clinton has also essentially clinched the Democratic nomination, which would make her the first female major party nominee in history. “She had one good debate – not against me by the way, because I had an unblemished record of victories during debates – but she had one victory on the smaller stage and that was it”, Trump said. “They are two sides of the same coin”.

Asked about that donation earlier this year, Kristina Hernandez, a spokeswoman for the Mercer-funded super PAC, told USA TODAY that “we … knew from the beginning she was a true conservative with a message that would resonate”. Ted Cruz — scrambling to line up delegates who will support them on a second vote, when delegates can vote for whichever candidate they want.

Fiorina also defended the Republican nominating process, despite polling showing that an overwhelming number of voters in Tuesday’s contests feel the candidate with the most delegates heading into the Cleveland convention should get the nomination, even if they don’t get to 1,237 needed to secure the nomination.

All three candidates are looking to galvanize supporters, sway undecided party members or poach from rival campaigns at the convention. Cruz has chose to team up with John Kasich to try and block Donald Trump from receiving the GOP nomination.

Among all Americans, 59 per cent had an unfavourable opinion of Cruz and 69 per cent said that of Trump.

On Tuesday, Cruz had one of the worst primary election night this year.

Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, endorsed Cruz after she dropped out of the race in February and has turned into a top surrogate for the Texan’s campaign over the past several weeks. And Cruz needs IN to do that. That move, by Ronald Reagan, backfired when his selection of Sen. “I like Carly. Nice person but she never resonated”. According to statistics blog FiveThirtyEight, Trump has won 956 delegates to Cruz’ 546, and Cruz was drubbed yesterday along the East Coast, where five states voted overwhelmingly for Trump.
