Indiana Jones Won’t Be Recast
Looking for a few clarity on rumors that have circulated for months, then, Total Film asked Marshall directly if Chris Pratt (who worked with Marshall on Jurassic World) could take up the mantle of Indiana Jones for the new film. We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at a few point we’ll sit down.

Marshall added that the filmmakers are “not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones….”
Ironically, James Bond was a heavy influence on the creation of Indiana Jones, which lead to former 007 Sean Connery being cast as Indy’s father in 1989’s Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade.
Instead perhaps, we will have an Indiana Jones when he is eighty, which will cover the breathtaking and heart-stopping series of lectures delivered by the acclaimed professor Jones at the Marshall College before he is too incontinent to continue.
While the concept of a fifth installment to the franchise may be a polarizing topic for even the most die-hard fans – as is the idea of Chris Pratt filling the archaeologist’s shoes – word has came down the pipeline that the famous character will definitely not be recast going forward.

Not that anyone is asking us, but here’s our pitch: The Indiana Jones Chronicles. What is known is that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas will be involved and that “Indiana Jones 5” is at least being thought about. So it looked like Disney was putting Indiana Jones on the backburner. Recalling Harrison Ford back for another crack of the whip reads like a short-term answer to a long-term problem, and it’s likely the studio will have to seed a few form of transition by casting another young protege for Jones to coach in the fine art of treasure-hunting. Considering LeBeouf’s career choices and tendency to appear in police mugshots, I’m not sure if Disney wants to extend an offer to the actor to reprise the role. But along with acquiring the rights to Star Wars, they also got the rights to the Indiana Jones films.
