Police say Samples ran into the Egg Roll #1 restaurant. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

In June, the store received some unwanted attention when a video of a fight in the shampoo aisle went viral.

“For a period of time, there were not any Beech Grove police officers patrolling the streets of Beech Grove because we were down at Walmart again dealing with an irrelevant shoplifter”, a police rep told WTHR of Thursday’s incident, noting the public nuisance designation will allow police to fine the store up to $2,500 per call.

The store has increased security and said they are doing everything they can to work with the city and police to stop crimes from happening on their property. But police say calls have spiked over the last two weeks. The battery and gun possession charges are connected to a shooting reported in Indianapolis on July 29.

The Star reports Beech Grove police made 1,278 runs to the store resulting in 473 arrests between February 2014 and mid-June. He also commended Wal-Mart employees and security for keeping other shoppers safe.

Then officers will have the option to issue tickets when they’re called to the store.

Buckley said after that incident he was considering declaring the store a nuisance. The mayor said it was a necessary resolution.
