Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook has done a lot of great things as a Spartan but, one thing has eluded him until now.
For the Spartans, Connor Cook looks to be fine after the chest injury he suffered in the first half.
EAST LANSING -Michigan State is 8-0 headed into its bye week, winners of 12 in a row dating back to a loss to Ohio State almost a year ago.
The Spartans have Cook, and he is trumping everything else. “I think our defense was getting exhausted, and we were making their defense exhausted too, but we just need more time”. “I don’t care. As long as we win, I can throw for 15 yards and I’ll be happy”.

That-as well as questions about his accuracy-seems to be one of the biggest reasons why opinions on Cook still appear to be split.
Cook’s favorite target, wideout Aaron Burbridge, leads the lead with 103.8 receiving yards per game and is tied for first with 82 catches.
“Last time I checked I look around and look at the other quarterbacks that are out there who exactly am I going running to go draft?” Last season he dominated Indiana with 332 yards and three touchdowns. The 5-foot-10 Jones has 32 receptions for 624 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
For three quarters, Nate Sudfeld and Indiana matched Michigan State touchdown for touchdown and, aside from a couple of missed extra points by the Hoosiers, the game was even. The seventh-ranked Spartans are still undefeated, but they’ll have to avoid a letdown against the Hoosiers.
“Guys won’t be stressing when they go in for the first time”, said Dantonio. “He’s got that X-factor”. Like I say – I don’t think I’ve ever come in here and complained about our issues injury-wise – in the end it should make us a better football team overall.
Putting aside the fact that IU was outscored 24-0 in the fourth quarter, and has been outscored 46-0 in the last two fourth quarters, Wilson said he likes that the team came close to defeating No. 1 Ohio State in week five and was down by just two points in the fourth quarter to a No. 7 Michigan State team.
But it’s not hard to see that the Spartans signal-caller is on an upward trajectory, which could ultimately lead to Cook hearing his name called sooner rather than later next spring.
