Florentino said he is excited for the victor – he has no idea who it is – and for his store, which will receive a reward for selling the ticket, he said.

The Hoosier Lottery says the winning ticket for the Mega Millions jackpot worth an estimated $540 million was sold at a gasoline station in eastern Indiana.

“I’ll be tickled if it’s someone from Cambridge City, or our region, who won it”, he said, adding, “I’m not the victor, but I wish I was”.

Ten winning Match 5 tickets were also sold across the country, seven of them worth $1 million each: in Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and Oklahoma, according to the news release.

Sales of the $1 tickets fund the hefty prize, which was worth $380 million on Friday evening if a victor chooses an immediate cash payout instead of payments over 30 years.

The highest Mega Millions jackpot sits at a $656 million win from March 30, 2012, when three tickets shared the pot, lottery officials said. One willing ticket was sold in Indiana.
