Indianapolis Colts Week 2 Stock Report

The Jets pass defense did a decent job in Week 1 against Cleveland but will face far better opposition this Week in Andrew Luck. “He’s just a hell of a quarterback”.

The AFC East had a good outing week one and that should ignite some fire in the Dolphins to perform better in the forthcoming weeks. Then when Tom Brady stepped on the field he made it look easy.

The whole turn of events is somewhat surprising, even for the fickle world of NFL coaches and contracts.

It’s been five years since the New York Jets have been a relevant threat in the AFC East. Many fans wondered during the off-season if that trend would change in 2015. Luck is much better than he played last week and he will have extra motivation to prove that against the Jets.

Rather, the team is likely going to be cautious with their top wideout and could hold him out of gametime action for the next week or so as a precaution.

Finishing up the NFL’s Week 2 schedule this week on “Monday Night Football”, we’ve got an AFC battle between the Jets and Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The good news for the Jets is that Bowles already has had success against Luck, albeit in a limited track record. How’d it go? We’ve been in games before where we haven’t been able to run, but we’ve found a way to pull a victory out.

What does Andrew Luck do really well?

Luck finished 26-for-49 for 253 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, however, his advanced statistics are even worse. That’s a nice sign; maybe the Jets have finally found a passing attack.

On the other, Dorsett blew his chance at a first impression on Sunday, fumbling two punts, losing one that all but sealed the game.

On defense, it seemed like the Jets of old were out there running around against a Johnny Manziel-led Browns offense. New York picked Luck off twice and sacked him four times in his fifth career game.

Aaron Rodgers is among those who can sympathize with Luck and the Colts as his Packers visiting Buffalo last December and suffered a 13-21 loss to the Bills.

Journeyman backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played his usual smart and effective game in throwing two touchdown passes, while running back Chris Ivory scored two of his own on the ground. “When he’s on the run, he might chuck it 60 yards”. Given Bowles’ tendency toward applying pressure, he might follow suit, though neither he nor his players would let on if that would be the case.

“He’s a star”, Revis told The Post. Bills beat the Colts 27 to 14. The Patriots own the division and the Bills are getting all the hype, but if the Jets can leave Indy 2-0, it’s Gang Green who will be the hot topic. Absolutely. Every single room I’ve been in as a defensive coach for 28 years, whether it was a coordinator or position coach, offensively, there are going to be some fireworks in those rooms. “Their house on Monday night, it will be a totally different team, we’ve just got to be ready for their best”.
