Indians acquire Andrew Miller from Yankees

This officially means that the 4th place New York Yankees are sellers. Well, it seems that Andrew Miller is also heading out of the Bronx, New York and is now calling Cleveland home.

Lucroy has a limited no-trade clause and the Indians are one of eight teams in which he could refuse a deal.

“There were some circumstances that came up that made me void it, obviously”, Lucroy told reporters. And I think that’s the way we looked at it, and we felt that Andrew adds to that.

The Indians didn’t land Miller for a small price, however, as they’ll be sending their #1 and #5 prospects (according to MLB Pipeline) as well as two additional pieces to NY.

“It’s hard, especially on Miller, because we had him from last year, and had him under our control on a strong contract for two years”, said Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman in a conference call on Sunday morning. “It breathes a lot of life into this clubhouse”. “Over the last two months this should give us a much better chance to win games”.

Miller’s name had swirled in trade rumors for weeks.

The former Yankees reliever would have, like Maybin, become teammates with the player he was traded for-that is if a deal had gone through.

Milwaukee now pivots to other potential options, which include the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and Texas Rangers, none of whom are on his no-trade list. Allen did mention recently that he is fine with relinquishing the closer’s role if it helps the team. “I like the guys here”.

“The chessboard that’s lined up that we’re playing is not the same chessboard that we were playing back when I just started in the late ’80s”, he said. “So, you have to look at the positives and helping those guys reach their goals”. “We want to try to do what we can to get to the postseason and win a World Series”.

Indians manager Terry Francona applauded the team’s bold move in getting Miller.

In a separate move, the Yankees re-acquired right-handed reliever Tyler Clippard from the Diamondbacks for minor-league right-hander Vicente Campos. 003 percentage points and they just got better. They’ve got some good pieces out in the bullpen. “There’s no better message”. By trading Aroldis Chapman they were able to acquire Gleyber Torres from the Chicago Cubs.

Possessing a almost unhittable slider, Miller is 6-1 with a 1.39 ERA.

Feyereisen, 23, was 4-3 with a 2.23 ERA and five saves (40.1IP, 30H, 10ER, 20BB, 56K, 3HR, .205 opp BA) in 33 relief appearances for Double-A Akron this season, and was named to the 2016 Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star team. This year, he has been almost as dominant in Advanced A and is expected to be a hard throwing, left handed, mid-rotation starter a few more years down the line.
