Call it an All-Star split doubleheader.

New York Yankees RHP Dellin Betances said he was shocked after the organization traded closer and LHP Andrew Miller to the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.
Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has blocked his proposed trade to Cleveland after the teams had reached a preliminary agreement on a deal sending the two-time All-Star to the Indians.
“There were some circumstances that came up that made me void it, obviously”, said Lucroy. “So we’ll see where it takes us, but that’s the effort that we’ve got going on here, and I think fans should be excited by that”. “I had no control over it, so, just go with the flow”. They didnt go halfway. Milwaukee general manager David Stearns says the Brewers will move on after Lucroy refused to waive the no-trade provision in his contract. Maybe they even have a chance to bring a title to Cleveland.
Lucroy told reporters in Milwaukee he was looking for “long-term gain, not short-term gain”, and that he was concerned about playing time, with Cleveland catcher Yan Gomes signed through 2019.
“We lost a true leader and good friend for me”, Betances said.
So will his ability to mix and match Miller with RHP Bryan Shaw in the late innings before handing the ball to RH closer Cody Allen. Currently, Sheffield is ranked around 96th on the list of top 100 prospects, one of now seven players in the Yankees’ minor league system ranked in the top 100 in baseball, the most among any team. Adding this type of player, who openly refuses to be a part of the team in the future, may not have been worth the trouble. “That’s very meaningful. So I want to talk to all of them together at one point before we get started just so we’re all on the same page”. “They’ve got a great lineup, rotation”. We’re in first place with the guys we have, but to get a game-changer like Miller, that lets us know everybody in the front office wants to win as badly as we do right now.
Clippard was drafted by the Yankees in 2003, made six starts as a rookie in 2007 and then was traded to Washington. The bullpen needs him badly because with Miller as there set up man the Indians will be better with there bullpen.
As the deadline approaches for trades and transactions, Major League Baseball has teams cementing their rosters in preparation for the season. In 150 games (including one start) over four minor league seasons, Heller has a 9-8 record with 31 saves and a 2.77 ERA (172.1IP, 53ER, 69BB, 6HR), having allowed just 122 hits while recording 226 strikeouts with a.193 opponents batting average.
Seattle received left-hander Ariel Miranda in the trade.
Rookie left-hander Blake Snell struck out nine over 5 1/3 innings, Luke Maile had a key two-run single and the Rays completed a three-game sweep by beating the Yankees 5-3 on Sunday. A former first-round pick (fifth overall) in the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft, Frazier has developed into a skilled hitter, praised for his bat speed.
Team president Chris Antonetti would not comment on Lucroy, but according to multiple reports, Lucroy wanted the Indians to decline a club option for 2017 that would have paid him a modest $5.25 million, while agreeing to a multi-year deal. They traded for Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Tyler Clippard for minor league pitcher Vicente Campos.
Israel-based reporter David Pick, known for his worldwide connections, posted Sunday on Twitter, “Amar’e Stoudemire agreed to deal with co-owned Hapoel Jerusalem to become best-ever National Basketball Association star in Israel”.

In 146 appearances during his first stint with the Yankees, Warren’s ERA never finished the year above 3.39.
