Lucroy’s offense is the only thing that affects his trade value, and BP Milwaukee has an in-depth look at his defensive play.

Texas and Houston appear to be leading candidates to land Lucroy if a deal with Cleveland falls through and the Mets can’t find enough prospects to interest the Brewers.

Cleveland, which leads the AL Central, has been looking for a catcher since Yan Gomes separated his shoulder in July.

Lucroy said simply that there were “circumstances that came up” that caused him to block the deal. “Couns” just told me I’m not playing tonight and that’s it”.

NY had reportedly offered catcher Travis d’Arnaud, outfielder Brandon Nimmo, or a comparable player to Milwaukee in exchange for Lucroy. Most importantly, I still see the Mets coming up short.

Brewers general manager David Stearns is expected to meet with the media shortly to discuss the situation.

Any doubt that the Cleveland Indians weren’t feeling championship fever following the Cavaliers victory in the NBA Finals has been erased. “We were aware that was a possibility”.

Cleveland was able to finalize a deal with the Yankees for Andrew Miller. The Indians declined to make Lucroy feel better about it, and would not rip up the option, so Lucroy declined.

Jonathan LucroyWill the Mets be able to get all-star Jonathan Lucroy? With Gomes out, Chris Gimenez and Roberto Perez have been sharing catching duties but neither has been productive – Gimenez entered Saturday’s game batting.
