Trailing 7-0, the Tigers reached Carrasco for a run in the sixth but lost Miguel Cabrera in the process. Cabrera was out on the play. Through ten games vs. the Tigers this season, Cleveland is 10-0, having consistently beaten the Tigers at home, and at Comerica Park.

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Indians show no sign of letting up their dominance of the Detroit Tigers.

Napoli hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the seventh inning and the Cleveland Indians remained flawless in 10 games against the Detroit Tigers this season with a 5-3 victory on Monday night. Once we processed yesterday, we move on.

Both players will be participating in their first-ever All-Star game. Yan Gomes popped out, but the next three batters all drew walks: Carlos Santana, Kipnis and Francisco Lindor.

The right-hander lasted only six innings, but was plenty effective during his time on the mound, allowing just a run on three hits while striking out five. “Each time we beat them we gain more confidence”.

Detroit manager Brad Ausmus believes there’s a simple reason for his team’s woes against Cleveland. Cabrera then hit a ball down the third base line. He was ejected when the umpires didn’t reverse the call.

LOS ANGELES – Manny Machado hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning, lifting Baltimore and ending its five-game skid while stopping Los Angeles’ five-game winning streak. No shortstop can hold a candle to Lindor defensively – he leads with a 9.9 UZR, a 23.3 UZR/150, and he has saved nine runs on defense. Castellanos smacked a two-run double and Steven Moya drilled a two-run single – hitting it off left-handed reliever T.J. House. It was the kind of double play that Indians’ fans associate with Omar Vizquel, who just so happened to be coaching first base for the Tigers.

Rookie Michael Fulmer (9-2) allowed two runs – one earned – in six innings for the win.

Tigers: RHP Jordan Zimmermann (right neck strain) underwent tests Wednesday to determine why pain is radiating toward his shoulder. Will Harris, who was named to his first All-Star team, pitched a scoreless ninth for his ninth save. He was hitless in three at-bats before being ejected.

Castellanos, who returned to the lineup after sitting out Tuesday with flu-like symptoms, had his second five-RBI game.

“I’d love to give you an answer, but I don’t have one right now”, Ausmus said. “I bounce back great every day and am nearly unrestricted in baseball activity”.

While Zimmermann is only expected to miss around the minimum of 15 days, which will include the All-Star break, the injury has already cost him a couple weeks of effective pitching. LHP Daniel Norris (strained right oblique) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday.
