Nine of Cleveland’s 14 hits were for extra bases: three home runs and six doubles. Indians manager Terry Francona said he underwent tests before being sent home. It’s a moment you don’t want.

In four games against the Angels this year Napoli is hitting.563 (9-for-16) with a home run and six RBIs.

Left-hander Brett Oberholtzer, who was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia, surrendered six runs over 1 2/3 innings in his Angels debut.

The Tribe’s Corey Kluber is lurking in the American League’s Cy Young and has been excellent recently, posting a 1.46 ERA over his last five starts.

Kluber knew the early lead was the difference. “Obviously, I made a mistake on that pitch to Trout”. But to come back and answer, first batter, Carlos hit a homer to tie the game.

In that game Carrasco pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, with nine strikeouts and two walks.

Santana, was knocked out of the game in the fifth inning, while sitting in the dugout. Santana went down and was helped to the clubhouse by trainers.

The Indians began an 11-game homestand by moving four games ahead of idle Detroit in the AL Central.

Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the first on Trout’s team-high 22nd homer, but trailed 14-3 after the fifth.

Cliff Pennington also homered off Kluber in the third, his third of the season.

The game was delayed twice by rain for a total of 1 hour, 10 minutes. “It was not a good feeling”, Francona said. It’s possible he will have additional surgery.
