With the win, the Blue Jays (45-39) earned a split in the four-game series against the Indians (49-32). And always remember, what goes around comes around.

The Indians extended their winning streak to a franchise-record 14 games with a 19-inning victory Friday. Toronto used infielders Ryan Goins and Darwin Barney in Friday’s 19-inning loss.

After the Sunday games, Royals starters had a 27-34 won-lost record and the Blue Jays were 37-20.

Los Angeles’ Albert Pujols hit his 575th big-league homer and had five RBIs.

“That was very impressive”, Indians manager Terry Francona said. It was the 30-year-old right-hander’s second shortest outing of the season. The right-hander struck out four.

Most important to the Jays, though, Happ pitched seven innings and gave the bullpen a rest.

“They keep telling us it has to be conclusive”, Francona said of the process of overturning a call. “If it wasn’t for that I’d probably be fine”. “It all starts with fastball command”. It was tough. I gave it all I had today.

Lefty J.A. Happ (11-3, 3.54) had his way with the Indians.

Washington’s Gio Gonzalez (4-7) allowed four runs on six hits with nine strikeouts in six innings before Matt Belisle came on in the seventh.

Blue Jays’ Edwin Encarnacion cracking a three-run shot in the first inning.

Drew Hutchison allowed the double by Davis in the seventh, a single by Jose Ramirez that tied the game, and a double by Mike Napoli that put Cleveland ahead 6-5. “At third there was a ball hit and it was at me, but I didn’t even see it off the bat”. The Blue Jays, meanwhile, sat third at 3.77.

“I was throwing super changeups”, he said.

Tulowitzki hit his 13th homer of the season of left-hander Shawn Morimando, who was called up from Double-A to make his major-league debut. Michael Saunders added a two-run double off Tommy Hunter before Roberto Osuna came on for his 16th save. “I don’t think that’s going to happen, but it could”. Eduardo Nunez had four hits for the Twins, who scored at least three runs in four of the first five innings.

McAllister was pulled after a 31-pitch opening frame and replaced by Jeff Manship, who also worked an inning.

The bulging disc remains a serious issue, but Estrada says he’s been nursing it for a long time now.

Catcher Russell Martin hit his seventh homer of the season, a three-run shot, and finished with four hits.

Having missed his previous two scheduled starts due to a back strain, Strasburg showed no ill effects as he got through 109 pitches without allowing a hit. The roof was open.

Walker (4-6) retired the first 11 batters of the game and had a shutout going through six innings.

Danny Salazar (10-3, 2.33) will face Detroit lefty Daniel Norris on Monday night in from of a sold-out crowd at Progressive Field.
