The probe agency had also told the court that it is expecting information from Interpol on the details of an account opened by Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in murder case, in a bank in Hong Kong.

A Special Court is slated to pass orders Tuesday on a request by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to interrogate Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and Shyamwar Rai.

The new arrests and revelations have twisted the case for some, while also leading to newer clues.

The investigation had revealed that Peter and Indrani had allegedly siphoned off funds to the tune of Rs 900 crore from their company 9X Media through a layer of nine companies during 2006-2007.

Peter, who tried to portray himself as “another victim” of Indrani’s plan, was fully aware of the plan to murder Sheena.

In the meantime Indrani’s former husband Sanjeev Khanna’s lawyer Shreyansh Mithare and Indrani’s lawyer Gunjan told the court that they do not have any objection to the CBI’s plea seeking to interrogate them for three more weeks in judicial custody.

Asked about whether or not the judiciary ought to consider in investigative stories by reporters of reputed media homes, Jethmalani stated “It is completely fantastic for the investigative journalists to alert about scams, suppressed murders and hid crimes however it’s not correct for media to begin selling evidences and commenting on it earlier than the trial begins in courtroom”.

“Why would he get involved?” The explanation that he willingly joined the plot so that his daughter Vidhie’s interests would be served and she would become the rightful heir to Peter’s wealth is too simplistic. “Why would Sanjeev agree to be part of the murder unless there were big bucks involved and he was promised a share?”
