Infant found dead inside hot car outside Austin Waffle House
Austin-Travis County EMS said when they arrived at the scene, the child wasn’t in the auto, but it’s not clear if the child was pulled out of the vehicle prior to medical assistance arriving.

“If you see a child, elderly person, an animal in a auto call 911 immediately”. The male driver was located at the scene. They also were unable to determine how long the baby had been in the auto.
Police said the death does not appear suspicious.
Waffle House corporate says their workers at the Hwy 71 location are shaken up.
It happened at the Waffle House located near the intersection of Hwy 71 and Riverside Drive.
According to an Austin police spokesperson, officers were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. Thursday to the 7800 block of Ben White Boulevard near the U.S. 183 interchange.
Further information was not immediately available. Chad Martinka with the Austin Police Department told ABC affiliate KVUE-TV. Police confirm the man is cooperating, however, it’s unknown if he was related to the boy or was a diner in the restaurant.
