Infant’s death leads to drug arrests in Concord
On Monday the infant was reported to be unconscious and not breathing inside a small camper on a Penacook Street property. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. However, police said the two lived in the camper and that the baby lived in the camper with his parents.

While on the property, police said they saw drug paraphernalia and later found several packages of methamphetamine, which appeared to be for sale, officials said. Police declined to say whether the infant boy and toddler were siblings, but said the 2-year-old is safe and that the state Division of Children, Youth and Families is involved.
“The detectives estimated that the total quantity of methamphetamine was approximately 25 grams”, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit.
Officers learned that the infant had been living in the camper with Bradford Ross, 24, and Kayla Austin, 20, along with a young child, police said. Detectives also found receipts and ledgers suggesting that the drugs were meant for sale.
Ross is charged with possession of a drug with intent to distribute.
The pair was arrested without incident Thursday morning at the Holiday Inn on Main Street in Concord. They are facing drug and child endangerment charges. They were held on $50,000 cash bail pending their arraignment on Friday in Concord District Court.

Police said the investigation into the infant’s death is ongoing, but there does not appear to be foul play.
