The now-finalized lineup also includes the QX30S, which is based on the European-market Q30 Sport.
A hatch can easily be confused as a crossover and vice versa – such can be said of the Infiniti Q30 that is too close for comfort to the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. According to the company’s officials, the starting price will be somewhere around $30,000. Essentially the same as the Q30 sold in markets outside of the United States, the QX30 will offer a sleek hatchback body style and will come exclusively with front-wheel drive.
QX30: The crossover’s highly sculpted exterior, unique stance and asymmetric cabin design exemplify Infiniti’s design-led approach to product development. Instead, the version bearing that name elsewhere will be positioned as the entry-level QX30, that “X” belying the car’s front-wheel drive layout.
As a result, there will be three versions of the 2017 Infiniti QX30 in the U.S.: Two front-wheel-drive models, matching the Q30 sold overseas; plus one all-wheel-drive version with a higher ride height that aligns with the global QX30. It was shown at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and is sold in other markets as the Q30S. It features an increased ride height, ruggedized bumpers, and a standard all-wheel drive system.

The QX30 line for North America is powered by a 208-horsepower, 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and it is scheduled to go on sale at Infiniti dealers in the United States and Canada in mid-2016 and in Mexico and Latin America in the second half of 2016.
