Infosys techie Swathi murder case: Accused Ramkumar’s mysterious death sparks controversy
Ram Kumar, the man accused of killing Swathi, a Chennai-based Infosys techie, has died after biting a live wire in a city prison, reported NDTV.

Refusing to believe that Ramkumar, committed suicide, lawyer S.P. Ramaraj on Sunday alleged that his client’s death was a “planned murder” and that the Tamil Nadu Police are trying to push the truth under the carpet.
Swathi. 24, an IT professional with Infosys, was stabbed to death at the suburban Nungambakkam railway station here on June 24 allegedly by Ramkumar, who had been stalking her. Recalling that Ram Kumar had attempted suicide even at the time of his arrest, he said, “How can a person commit suicide in a prison? what were the prison authorities doing?” His body has been moved to the mortuary of Royapettah General Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. We kept a close watch on his activities.
As per reports, P Ramkumar (26) bit a live wire inside a switch box near the prison kitchen. Prison officials should have been trained to identify inmates with signs of suicidal tendencies and rate them according to the level of their problems.
Speaking to reporters at Meenachipuram in Tirunelveli, Ramkumar’s father Paramasivam said that the police killed his son. Leader of Opposition MK Stalin alleged that there was foul play involved in his death and asked for a probe. More importantly, the NHRC recommended that a thorough audit of the jail premises be conducted to find out the probable places/areas and items that are prone to be used for committing suicide. They (police) killed my son. An engineer by education, Ramkumar had come to Chennai in search of a job.

Despite Ramkumar’s arrest, over the past couple of months, there have been various conspiracy theories, largely floated via social media, over the case.
