Ingham County Prosecutor Faces 15 Criminal Charges
FOX 2 has learned that a longtime prosecutor in Ingham County is facing a charge of prostitution from the state. Schuette says that evidence showed Dunnings also allegedly induced a woman to become a prostitute who had not previously been one, resulting in the charge of Pandering, a 20-year felony. Those charges include 10 counts of prostitution, pandering and 4 counts of willful neglect of duty.

Deputy Chief Assistant Prosecutor John Dewane, who is handling media inquiries for the prosecutor’s office, has not responded to a request for comment. The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of MI filed federal charges in that case against human trafficking ring leader Tyrone Smith in July 2015.
“I have worked with Stuart Dunnings while I have served as Attorney General”, said Schuette.
Dunnings faces a sentence of as many as 26-1/2 years if found guilty of all of the charges.
Federal Bureau of Investigation Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Ted Docks said in the statement that “investigators developed information we could not ignore involving a public official” during the course of the investigation against Smith. Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth says it’s a “huge betrayal”. Any questions about the case should be addressed by the Attorney General or Mr. Dunnings attorney.
