Injuries hit Falcons, Dolphins early with Julio Jones, Ndamukong Suh out

It was the second injury for Neal this preseason.

The team’s first round pick of 2016 – safety Keanu Neal – had an MRI on Friday morning which confirmed he’ll need minor surgery, causing him to miss 3 to 4 weeks.

The Falcons also have listed wide receiver Julio Jones as questionable to return with an ankle injury of his own.

All three players will not return in the game. After getting checked out on the sideline, Jones kept his helmet on.

Neal went down with the injury after amassing 5 tackles early on against the Dolphins.

Jones battled with an undisclosed “tweak” the first few days of the team’s training camp.

“I think he’ll be okay”, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said to NBC.

Ndamukong Suh is being walked into the locker room by a trainer, who his holding his body up.

If there’s one thing you don’t want to hear come out of a preseason game, it’s injuries to your starters.

There is a reason National Football League players would like for the preseason schedule to be shortened.

Neal missed the team’s first preseason game against the Washington Redskins while suffering from a trunk injury, according to the team. Jones got up with a slight limp and the Falcons later announced he had an ankle injury and was questionable to return.
