Injury woes may send Liverpool’s Klopp on shopping spree

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has said manager Jurgen Klopp’s training regime is not to blame for the spate of hamstring problems that has brought injuries to crisis levels at Anfield.

Klopp faces the prospect of having no fit centre-backs for Friday’s FA Cup third-round trip to Exeter. Kolo Touré will also be absent against Exeter.

Klopp said: “Phil’s injury is more serious than Dejan’s and Kolo’s”.

“One injury at the wrong moment is a problem for the whole squad because other players have to play too much but you have to react to this”. Kolo is only cramp but it won’t be possible for him to play the next game.

“Dejan will be available after Manchester United. It’s really rare that it’s quicker, sometimes it’s longer, so we will see how long it takes”.

Klopp said: “It is a little bit of a unusual feeling because on the one side we have won this game and played well. I’m sure the lads who are out will be working extra hard to get back fit”.

Hamstring was Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp’s shit word of 2015.

“They restricted what we wanted to do in terms of getting people around the ball and restricting space and they did that to good effect and we had to improve in the second half”.

Coutinho and Lovren join Daniel Sturridge, Martin Skrtel, Divock Origi and Jordan Rossiter at the treatment table for hamstring injuries, leaving the club with one recognised centre-back.

Croatia defender Lovren and Brazil playmaker Coutinho will also miss Premier League games against Arsenal and Manchester United, manager Juergen Klopp told a news conference on Thursday.

“It’s great that the players have been able to carry it out but I think it has kicked in now”.

“I just think they’re falling foul of that”. In my opinion, the best skill and the biggest talents should be in your own club so they can play together at under-21 and develop as a team.

“I’d rather have been winning games going into the match, but I happen to think that we have been playing pretty well”, Tisdale said.
