“According to Marshall’s wife Johanna, Scott called her from his tattoo shop near Chicago Saturday night and said he wasn’t feeling well enough to make the drive home”. Later that day she was greeted by a pair of police officers at her front door, telling her that her husband had died.

A preliminary autopsy points to a heart issue, she adds.
“We’re tremendously saddened by the passing of Scott Marshall, a vibrant, creative spirit and talent who will be missed by the the entire “Ink Master” family”, said Original Media, which produces the show, in a statement. At the time, he had 16 years of tattooing experience under his belt.
Authorities told TMZ that Marshall’s death is under investigation.
Marshall was awareded a $100,000 prize after winning season four of Ink Master in 2014, and was later featured in Inked Magazine.
Ink Master host Dave Navarro also paid tribute to Marshall on Twitter.
A rep for the show tells TMZ, “He was a great competitor and talented artist. My condolences to his family”.
