Inside Amy Schumer: Not Cancelled by Comedy Central, But…
“She indicated that she could not Kurt Metzger (over his comments concerning rape allegations about another comic; details, here), “…because [they] aren’t making the show anymore.

All these and more were said by Schumer on her interview with Charlie Rose.
“Kurt’s my friend, I love him”, she continued.
Schumer’s final tweet on the subject for now says, “I’m grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects. He’s the problem, no question, but the focus is on him rather than on what the really – the real main problem is”. “And what’s consensual and what’s not”.
“Right now there are no plans for the TV show to come back in the near future, so nobody is on my staff”, she explained to Rose.
Schumer first sparked cancellation rumors regarding her Comedy Central series after she said that she did not fire Metzeger due to his comments over sexual assault. With friends like these…. Metzger sparked a social media furor over comments he made on Facebook about a sexual abuse scandal, comments to which Schumer responded.
Schumer went on to say that “they want his head”, addressing the backlash that she received for staying silent on the issue for a few days. I think people, you know, they want his head. Metzger criticized the UCB for the ban, as well as the actions of the accusers. Afterward, she retweeted a Twitter user who said, “We’ll miss your show”.
“It’s an interesting writers room because it’s always been very diverse with the views in there”, she added. But, her show wasn’t actually cancelled – it’s just on hiatus while she’s on tour and focuses on writing.
All this despite the series having been renewed in January for its fifth season, which was originally scheduled to air in 2017, but there is no word yet on a specific date audiences will see it on Comedy Central. Adding, “To focus your energy on online trolling – if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done”. Meanwhile, Schumer appears to have cancelled a Long Island book talk and a Sirius Radio appearance Thursday.
