Insomniac Games to release a trio of VR games in 2016
Insomniac has today unveiled a new game it is now developing in the form of The Unspoken which is being designed as a virtual reality game by the developers that are responsible for games such as Ratchet and Clank. The developer is also working on another Oculus Rift game, Edge of Nowhere. Feral Rites is a “VR adventure-brawler” set on an island with mystical jungles and temples to explore.

A second original VR franchise is called Edge of Nowhere, a third-person, action-adventure game. Feral Rites is set for release on the Oculus Store this autumn.
Insomniac’s progress in the virtual reality space marks an interesting shift now that both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive have launched.
The Unspoken is a first-person urban fantasy that sees spell-slinging mages battle each other in underground fight clubs. Both games will also be playable at this year’s E3 Expo.
The report is based on what Insomniac revealed as a tech demo for the game and included only the tutorial and the PvP arena. Hopefully the studio can carry on their legacy of colourful joy in their VR games. Insomniac Games’ Edge of Nowhere will hit the Oculus Store on June 6.
One of the hallmarks of Insomniac games is a varied arsenal of inventive firearms and mechanized killing machines, but Feral Rites is taking things back to basics, restricting combat to your own two fists (or claws, as the case may be). Players will be able to manipulate the environment around them, with the help of some powerful arcane forces that flow through their fingertips.
“There’s been much more mutual discovery, because we as a developer and Oculus as a hardware manufacturer are still figuring out how to create experiences in VR”.

The Unspoken is listed as coming out this holiday season, at the very end of the window where Oculus is supposed to be releasing its Touch controllers.
